Job Description

The Truck Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching and routing trucks and drivers in a timely and efficient manner. This position ensures that all freight is picked up and delivered on time and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The Truck Dispatcher also communicates with customers, truck drivers, and other personnel to ensure that all orders are handled accurately and professionally.

Hours for the position are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Monitor truck drivers’ routes and make adjustments per the client's needs
• Coordinate with clients daily and handle job orders
• Record and maintain all work tickets in an EXCEL spreadsheet
• Communicate with customers, drivers, and other personnel to resolve issues
• Ensure that all assignments and drivers handle materials according to DOT regulations
• Coordinate with truck drivers and other office or shop personnel to coordinate equipment, HR issues, or dispatch questions
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in a dispatching role
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office and related software programs
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing trucking operations
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver’s license
