Knowledge of second language acquisition skills. Ability to work collaboratively with campus staff in a classroom/training model. Awareness of Social Emotional Learning practices. Duties and Responsibilities Acculturate recently transitioned students from a ESL classroom to a mainstream ESL educational setting. Collaboratively plan and co-teach with teachers of English Learners to ensure support services are aligned to the needs of identified ESL students. Develop students' English proficiency skills while accelerating students’ learning in core content areas in a safe and supportive co-teach environment. Provide developmentally appropriate instruction that will facilitate the acquisition of English language, literacy, and cognitive academic language and skills. Monitor student progress. Attend ARDs for ESL/LEP students and serve on LPAC committees throughout the year. Serve as a student advocate for limited English proficient students. Perform other duties as assigned.
