The New York City Law Department seeks applications from first and second year law school students for summer honors intern positions to commence in June 2026. Summer interns will assist attorneys with basic legal tasks, including drafting briefs, pleadings, and motions; conducting legal research; attending depositions; interviewing witnesses; and making occasional court and administrative agency appearances in simple matters. Selected applicants may be placed in any division of the Law Department based on needs. Interns selected for the Tort or Family Court Divisions may be placed in any of the five New York City boroughs; those selected for the Workers’ Compensation Division will be placed in the Brooklyn office.
