Job Description

The New York City Law Department seeks applications from first and second year law school students for summer honors intern positions to commence in June 2026. Summer interns will assist attorneys with basic legal tasks, including drafting briefs, pleadings, and motions; conducting legal research; attending depositions; interviewing witnesses; and making occasional court and administrative agency appearances in simple matters. Selected applicants may be placed in any division of the Law Department based on needs. Interns selected for the Tort or Family Court Divisions may be placed in any of the five New York City boroughs; those selected for the Workers’ Compensation Division will be placed in the Brooklyn office. All other interns will be assigned to the 100 Church Street office. Please upload your resume and cover letter to apply for this position. Summary SUMMER GRADUATE INTERN - 10232 Qualifications Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college, university or law school. First or second year law student currently enrolled in an ABA approved law school. Strong oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills.
