Internship Program The NYPD is seeking UNDERGRADUATE college students for our 2026 Summer Internship Program. Summer Interns are employed in various NYPD Commands for up to 13 weeks between June and September 2026. Responsibilities Preparation of spreadsheets and reports Research Statistical analysis Computer work requiring intermediate level computer skills and/or knowledge of specific applications and programs Accounting or bookkeeping duties Legal research and paralegal work Forensic science analysis and research Assistance with specific reengineering initiatives Work Location Various work locations in New York City. Hours/Shift Full‑Time; 35 hours per week Qualifications As of June of the program year, the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the program year). Residency requirement: New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. Some exceptions apply for City employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years; discuss eligibility with the agency representative at interview.
