Mr. Rooter Plumbing is seeking a reliable and skilled Mechanic Technician to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair our company vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure all machinery, company trucks, and mechanical systems operate safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and support daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform company vehicles and equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Repair engines, brakes, transmissions, suspension systems, and other components
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and service calls
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
• Order and manage parts, tools, and shop supplies
• Test vehicles and equipment after repairs
• Keep work areas clean and organized

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical certification or vocational training in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics preferred.
• Minimum of 25 years of mechanic or maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and hand tools.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
• Valid drivers license required; CDL preferred where applicable.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with diesel engines
• Hydraulic and electrical repair experience
• Fleet maintenance experience
• Time management and organizational skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and components.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding environments for extended periods.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and operational conditions.

Work Environment
This position operates in shop and field environments and may require exposure to noise, grease, fumes, moving mechanical parts, and varying weather conditions. Occasional overtime, weekend work, or emergency call-outs may be required based on operational needs.
