The City of Pomona Library has an exciting opportunity for a Library Clerk II who is passionate about community service and eager to make a positive impact in our public library. This recruitment is being conducted to fill two (2) current vacancies, and the resulting eligibility list may be used to fill future vacancies. This role will participate in the work of one or more Library Services units or sections, such as Library Patron Services, Information Services, and/or Youth Services. Part-time, hourly positions average 20 hours per week and less than 1,000 hours in a twelve (12) month period. Work hours will be approximately 20 hours per week (3 to 6 hours per shift). Must be available to work between the hours of 12 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., as scheduled.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate for the Library Clerk II position is a friendly, detail-oriented individual who enjoys helping others and has a strong commitment to public service. They will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to assist patrons effectively, explain library policies, and address inquiries. Proficiency in handling various office equipment, including computers and cash registers, along with the ability to accurately process transactions and maintain records, is essential. This role also requires someone organized and dependable, capable of managing responsibilities such as compiling reports and handling library materials. A successful Library Clerk II will be proactive in creating a welcoming environment for all library visitors and contribute to the library's mission of serving the Pomona community.
