Job Description

Internship: Marketing Coordination

Support Services is the engine that keeps DEA moving. From executive leadership to admin, HR, IS, finance, and marketing, we're the team that keeps things organized, efficient, and people-focused. We solve problems, connect teams, and make sure DEA runs like a well-oiled machine, because great work starts with great support.

The Support Services Business Unit is seeking a Marketing Coordination Intern in Portland, OR.

At David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA), Marketing plays a direct role in how we win work. As a Marketing Intern on our Corporate Marketing team, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting DEA's business development efforts across Transportation, Water and Environment, Energy, Land Development, Marine Services, and Surveying and Geomatics.

In the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, marketing looks different than consumer or brand marketing. Our team partners closely with engineers and technical leaders to develop proposals, Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), and interview presentations that help secure infrastructure and community-impacting projects. This internship offers exposure to the fast-paced, deadline-driven environment of professional services marketing, where strategy, organization, and storytelling come together to support project pursuits.

You'll work alongside experienced marketers and business development professionals to support active pursuits, maintain marketing assets, and build practical skills that complement your academic experience.

Key Responsibilities

This role is not centered on advertising campaigns or influencer-style social media marketing. Instead, you'll gain insight into how professional services firms compete for and win complex engineering projects.

  • Support proposal and SOQ development through formatting, editing, document assembly, and deadline coordination
  • Conduct basic market, client, and competitor research to inform pursuit strategy
  • Assist with maintaining marketing collateral, resumes, and project descriptions to ensure pursuit readiness
  • Update CRM databases and marketing records to support business development tracking
  • Help prepare materials for conferences, trade shows, award submittals, and client interviews
  • Assist with social media and website content updates aligned to firm initiatives
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the Corporate Marketing team
  • Support visibility efforts for conferences, tradeshows and sponsorships

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, graduating in Summer or Fall 2026
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Application Instructions: In addition to your application, please submit a sample of your work. This may include an online portfolio, writing samples, design samples, or summaries of relevant school or personal projects. We're interested in seeing examples that showcase your creativity, communication skills, and thought processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry
  • Prior internship, campus involvement, or project experience related to marketing or business development
