Overview Title: Human Resources Generalist (HRG), Jr-Mid Position Summary: The HR Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations by assisting with Employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, HR compliance, and administrative HR processes. This role works closely with the HR department and Employees to ensure HR policies, procedures, and programs are consistently applied while contributing to a positive and productive workplace. This position is ideal for an HR professional with foundational HR experience who is developing broader generalist capabilities across multiple HR functions. Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Competitive salary Health insurance Opportunity for advancement Paid time off Training & development Vision insurance Details Status: Full-Time Schedule: 0830hrs – 1700hrs; M-F Location: On-Site, Aberdeen, MD 21001 Supervisory: No Key Roles / Duties HR Administration: Maintain accurate employee records within HR systems, personnel files, and KPI trackers to support audits and documentation requirements Process Employee status changes via PARs such as promotions, bonuses, or transfers Assist with drafting and/or maintaining HR documentation, policies, and procedures ensuring compliance with federal, state, and Company policies Recruitment & In-Processing/Onboarding: Assist with recruitment activities including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and candidate communications Support hiring managers throughout the selection process Coordinate in-processing activities to ensure new Employees have a positive and organized start Employee Programs & Engagement: Assist in the coordination of Employee award programs, training initiatives, and Company team building events Support initiatives promoting Employee engagement, morale, and workplace culture Benefits & Leave Administration: Provide administrative support for benefits enrollment, terminations, and Employee questions Track paid time off (PTO) and Out of Office (OoO) requests in accordance with Company procedures Employee Relations & Support: Serve as a point of contact (POC) for Employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace questions Assist in resolving routine Employee relations matters and escalate complex issues accordingly Support department with guidance on policy interpretation and basic Employee management concerns Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience in HR or a related role Demonstrated and strong experience with Microsoft Office software applications (SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local HR laws and regulations Proficient with Human Resource Information Systems (HRISs) Preferred Qualifications: Active HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR (or currently working towards certification) Four (4) years of experience in HR or a related role Demonstrated experience in training program development, recruitment, and compensation administration Travel Minimal, local travel less than 10% of the year Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a background check and/or security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information No clearance required EEO / Accessibility Veritech is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
