The Buyer will ensure availability of components to meet production schedule demands and maintain acceptable inventory levels within defined parameters. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP database (SAP) Perform cost analysis to justify source selection Process purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and perform order follow‑up/expedite duties Track supplier deliveries and maintain availability dates in MRP Review and record vendor pricing and lead times Source and maintain a reliable vendor base (delivery, price, and quality emphasis) Reduce purchase orders issued to suppliers Perform other duties as assigned Requirements This role is pivotal in supporting production with the materials they need at a competitive price. The individual in this position must have a high degree of integrity, resourcefulness, and professionalism in working with colleagues, clients, and vendors. Relationship building, internal customer service, and the ability to follow up in a timely manner are critical for success. The ideal candidate will have relative experience, excellent communication and time‑management skills, and manufacturing aptitude. To be successful in this role, a qualified applicant should possess the following attributes: Minimum of 5 years of related experience, manufacturing environment preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field required Experience in manufacturing, purchasing, and related industry terminology Experience navigating and maintaining ERP/MRP systems preferred; SAP experience is a plus Strong computer skills, including proficiency in current versions of Microsoft Office Suite, is required, with a focus in Microsoft Excel Strong communication, logic and problem‑solving skills are critical to success Strong problem‑solving skills Inventory management skills Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
