Job Description
Our client is a fast-growing personal injury law firm seeking a meticulous and experienced Legal Accounting & Trust Consultant for a critical cleanup and optimization project. Our firm handles a high volume of cases, and we are looking for a "fixer" who can step in, audit our current financial state, and ensure our Trust (IOLTA) and Operating accounts are reconciled to the penny. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in personal injury accounting workflows, specifically using NEOS or Filevine, and a proven track record of resolving check backlogs and trust discrepancies.

Responsibilities
- Forensic Trust Audit: Reconcile the IOLTA/Trust account by cross-referencing bank statements against the internal ledger to identify uncleared, stale-dated, or misplaced checks.
- Flow of Funds Management: Oversee the movement of funds from initial settlement deposit through to the final trust-to-operating transfer.
- Settlement Statement Accuracy: Audit and calculate complex settlement distributions involving client nets, medical provider liens, and attorney contingency fees.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all accounting activities meet State Bar requirements for three-way reconciliation and audit-ready record keeping.
