Job Description
Position Summary This role is responsible for handling orders from packing to loading on truck to accurately ship orders on a timely basis through the Company’s shipping systems using UPS and Fed-Ex. Safely and accurately loads finished pallets into storage or onto trucks using pallet jack or forklift. Carefully listens and responds to written both written and verbal instructions and orders and works with other employees in a positive and efficient manner. There are two openings available for this role.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to - Understands and follows all company standards and requirements needed to correctly prepare and load orders for shipment
- Accurately loads finished pallets into storage using pallet jack or forklift
- Accurately ships orders through UPS or Fed Ex systems and then restacks orders as needed
- Loads trucks with correct orders for shipment using pallet jack or forklift
- Identifies order exceptions, damaged product and similar items and promptly notifies supervisor of these
- Uses all required safety equipment and consistently follows all related food sanitation and operating safety guidelines
- Works effectively with other employees and Company management
- Takes initiative to see and assist with general housekeeping
Required Skills and Experience - High School diploma or GED
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must also have some previous related work or on-the-job experience for this position
- Must have basic computer skills and have an adequate working knowledge of product shipping and material handling practices, protocol, and procedures
Preferred Skills and Experience - Six months of related work experience
- Forklift operator certification
Physical Requirements - Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms
- Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen.
- Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to perform repetitive movements
- Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
